Farmers Protest March: The agitation of thousands of farmers marching from Noida to Delhi has been postponed at Dalit Prerna Sthal for the time being. The farmers were protesting against the government and administration over their demands related to compensation and redevelopment of land. After long talks with the police and administrative officials, the farmers have decided that they will continue their agitation by staying inside Prerna Sthal for the time being.

Farmers warned: "A fight to the finish"

Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Chaudhary B.C. Pradhan said that the administration has assured to consider their demands. He also made it clear that if their demands are not met soon, the farmers will once again march towards Delhi. Describing this movement as a fight to the finish, he said that the farmers are not ready to back down this time.

Administration's assurance: Solution in a week

Officials of Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority have assured the farmers that their demands will be conveyed to the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. The officials have asked the farmers for a week's time and promised to solve the problem. During this time the farmers will stay at Prerna Sthal.

During the talks, Yamuna Authority OSD Shailendra Singh, Noida Authority ACEO Mahendra Prasad, and senior police-administration officials were present. Following the officials, the farmers have decided to leave the road for the time being and protest at Prerna Sthal.

Strict security arrangements

In view of the farmers' agitation, 5,000 policemen were deployed. Of these, 1,000 jawans were from PAC. All facilities like water cannon, Vajra vehicle and tear gas were kept ready to keep the situation under control. The police had already decided on diversion and alternative routes to ease the traffic.

What are the main demands of the farmers?

The demands of the farmers are regarding land acquisition and compensation. Their five major demands include:

Increased compensation in lieu of acquired land.

Return of 10% of the acquired land as developed land.

Early payment of pending compensation.

A concrete policy for the rehabilitation of the affected farmers.

Settlement of other disputes related to land acquisition.

The next step of the movement

The farmers have given the administration a week's time. If concrete steps are not taken on their demands in this period, they will march to Delhi again. This time the movement can become even more widespread, due to which there is a possibility of affecting the traffic and security system in Delhi-NCR.

The morale of the farmers is high

The farmer organizations involved in this movement say that their problems are being ignored for a long time. The plan to reach Delhi from Mahamaya flyover and surround the Parliament was part of their struggle. At present, they are standing at Prerna Sthal, but the situation can become tense again if their demands are not met.

This movement has become a symbol of the farmers' fight for land and rights. Now it remains to be seen what steps the administration and the government take on the demands of the farmers and in which direction this movement goes in the coming days.
