Jay Shah has revealed that the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee recently interviewed for the new coach of Team India and after that two candidates have been shortlisted. However, he did not reveal the name, but definitely said that the team will get a new coach on India's tour of Sri Lanka. At the same time, VVS Laxman will be the coach of the team on the Zimbabwe tour. Gautam Gambhir is the biggest contender for the new coach of the Indian team. There is most discussion about his name. However, now it will be revealed only on the Sri Lanka tour whether he will become the coach of the team or not.

Along with winning the T20 World Cup trophy, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20 International. Since his departure, the position of the captain of Team India has also become vacant.
