BCCI Central Contract: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the central contract for the year 2024-25. This time a total of 34 players have got a place in the contract. Out of these, 5 players have got this honor for the first time, while there are also 5 names which were included in the previous list, but this time they have been shown the way out.

The central contract of BCCI is decided every year keeping in mind the performance, contribution and future plans of the players. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the performance and position of the players in the team who have been left out this year.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

One of the most successful spinners of Indian cricket, R Ashwin retired from international cricket after the Brisbane Test against Australia in December 2024. Now he is not playing for Team India in any format. In such a situation, his exit from the contract was certain.

2. Shardul Thakur

All-rounder Shardul Thakur played his last match for India in December 2023. He is out of the team due to injury and has not been able to make a comeback yet. Currently he is playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. Due to being out of the team for a long time, he was not included in the contract this time.

3. Avesh Khan

Fast bowler Avesh Khan played his last international match against South Africa in November 2024. Although his performance in the IPL has been better, the BCCI did not include him in the central contract for 2024-25. Avesh, who made his debut for India in 2022, has played 8 ODIs and 25 T20 matches so far.

4. Jitesh Sharma

Wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma made his debut for India in 2024 and got a chance in 9 T20 matches. However, he could not take advantage of these opportunities and remained far from the expected performance. After not being selected in the T20 World Cup 2024, there were already indications that he could be out of the contract list - and that is what happened.

5. KS Bharat

KS Bharat, who was Team India's backup wicketkeeper for a long time, was considered a promising player, but he could not prove himself in limited opportunities. Despite being technically strong, his bat remained silent and this is the reason why BCCI left him out of the central contract this time.
