Haryana Election 2024 : The BJP today released its second list of candidates for Haryana Assembly elections, adding 21 more names. So far, the party has declared 87 candidates for the 90-member assembly. The BJP has pitted Captain Yogesh Bairagi against Olympian Vinesh Phogat who is set to contest the polls on a Congress ticket from Julana.

Haryana Election 2024 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released the second list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections. The list contains the names of 21 candidates, in which the party has also changed the ticket. The party had earlier released a list of 67 candidates. That is, BJP has so far announced the names of 87 candidates. The three seats which are on hold include Faridabad NIT, Mahendragarh and Sirsa seats.


The party has given tickets to Pawan Saini from Narayangarh, Jai Bhagwan from Pehowa, Satpal Jamba from Pundri, Yogendra Rana from Assandh, Devendra Kaushik from Ganaur, Krishna Gehlawat from Rai, Pradeep Sangwan from Baroda, Captain Yogesh Beragi from Julana, Kushan Kumar Bedi from Narwana. Yogesh Beragi will face Vinesh Phogat of Congress in Julana.

Candidate changed on Pehowa seat

BJP has changed the candidate on Pehowa seat of Kurukshetra. BJP has now fielded Jai Bhagwan Sharma DD from Pehowa seat. Today, the party's first declared candidate from Pehwa, Kanwaljit Ajarana, returned the ticket. Ajarana has refused to contest the election. Former minister Manish Grover has been fielded from Rohtak.


Devendra Kaushik gets ticket in place of Nirmal Rani in Ganaur

At the same time, the party has not given ticket to the current BJP MLA from Ganaur, Nirmal Rani. Devendra Kaushik has been declared the candidate in her place. BJP state president Mohan Lal Baroli has not been given ticket from Rai seat. The party has fielded Krishna Gehlawat in his place. Mohan Lal Baroli had already refused to contest the election to work in the organization.

Full effort to balance social equations

BJP has also made full efforts to balance social equations in the tickets. The list of 21 candidates includes one Saini, two Brahmins, two Rajputs, three Jats, one Ror, one Bairagi, one Jat Sikh, three Punjabis, one Ahir, three Jatavs and two Muslim candidates. Apart from this, four Scheduled Caste candidates and two women candidates have also been fielded.


Elections on 90 seats on October 5

Elections will be held on 5 October in a single phase on 90 assembly seats in Haryana, while the counting of votes will be done on 8 October. Earlier, elections were to be held in the state on October 1, but the Election Commission postponed the elections in view of festivals and holidays. Earlier, the results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections were to be announced on October 4, but now they will be announced on October 8.
