To unravel the mystery behind the death of Malayali vlogger Rifa Mahnoo under suspicious circumstances in a Dubai flat two months ago, police exhumed the body from the mosque's graveyard for post-mortem. This information was given by Premlal, Tehsildar of Kozhikode.

The Special Investigation Team took the decision to conduct the post-mortem after a complaint from her parents, as they suspected that Rifa was murdered. Tehsildar Premlal told that her family members have lodged a complaint against her husband for the death of Rifa.

Case registered for abetment to suicide

Police have registered a case of mental and physical torture and abetment to suicide against Rifa's husband. On the basis of the post-mortem report, the police will conduct further investigation. A medical team from Kozhikode Medical College reached the spot at 9 am to complete the process.

Rifa was found dead in Dubai on March 1

Malayali YouTuber and vlogger Rifa Mahnoo, 21, was found dead in her flat in Dubai on March 1. Dubai's investigative authorities were unable to ascertain the reason behind Rifa's alleged suicide. The body brought from Dubai was buried here in India.

Family accuses in-laws

Rifa's family had alleged that her husband and his family members had cheated them by claiming that the post-mortem was conducted in Dubai. The investigation team sought the permission of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) to retrieve the body and then it has now been taken out and sent for post-mortem.

Excavation done under the supervision of Tehsildar

A team of forensic experts and police officials reached the graveyard at Pavandoor Juma Masjid, where Rifa's body was to be exhumed. The excavation work proceeded under the supervision of the Tehsildar, while the Deputy Collector was also present. The inquiry process has been completed.

The officials had made special arrangements for conducting the post-mortem in the premises itself. However, the body was still in perfect condition. The authorities decided to conduct the autopsy at the Kozhikode Medical College. According to police sources, the body will be buried today after the completion of the process.
