On Wednesday, the stock market opened on the green mark, maintaining the momentum of the previous trading day. The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share index Sensex started trading with a gain of 238 points at 58,380, while the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange opened with a jump of 76 points at 17,428. Shortly after the start of trading, the market lost the initial rally and the Sensex broke more than 300 points. As of 11 am, the Sensex was down 355 points, or 0.61 per cent, at 57,786.63, while the Nifty was also trading at 17,274, down 78.45 points or 0.45 per cent.The biggest decline of 1.45 per cent in the Sensex came in Tata Steel. Apart from this, L&T, ICICI Bank, SBI and UltraTech were among the major losers. On the other hand, M&M, HDFC, Dr Reddy's, PowerGrid and Kotak Bank were trading with gains. Significantly, on Tuesday, the stock market closed with a strong rally. Both the indices of the stock market had made a long jump on Tuesday, recovering from the sluggishness of the previous day. The Sensex jumped 1736 points to close at 58,142. On the other hand, the Nifty index closed at the level of 17,352 with a gain of 510. Let us tell you that after February 1, 2021, this is the biggest gain of the Sensex in any single day.
