At 9:16 am, the BSE Sensex was trading 361.93 points higher at 78,346.31, while the NSE Nifty gained 96.1 points to reach 23,754.45. Bank Nifty was also trading 201.75 points higher at 51,906.70.

Rise and fall in major stocks

In early trade, shares of L&T, TCS, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and Tech Mahindra were the main gainers on the Nifty. At the same time, shares of Dr. Reddy's Labs, Britannia, Hindalco, Tata Steel and SBI Life Insurance declined.

HCL Technologies, Central Bank of India, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals, Brigade Enterprises, Wipro, TTK Prestige, Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy, Hyundai Motor India, Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company and Britannia Industries stocks will be important for investors today.

Positive signals in Asian markets

Asian stock markets on Tuesday gained strength due to positive signals from Wall Street. Investor confidence increased due to reduced tariff prospects in the US and improving economic data. Trump's statement that automobile tariffs could soon be implemented, but some countries could be exempted, created enthusiasm among investors.

As a result, the S&P 500 closed at its highest level in two weeks, while the Nasdaq rose more than 2 percent due to a surge in tech stocks.

Movement in crude oil prices

There was little change in oil prices. Brent crude futures rose 3 cents to $73.03 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude was up 1 cent at $69.12.

Gold prices steady

Gold prices held steady at $3,013.75 an ounce after concerns over US tariffs eased and the Federal Reserve signaled it would take a cautious stance on cutting interest rates this year.
