Share Market Today: The Indian stock market touched its heights for the seventh consecutive trading day on Tuesday, bringing smiles to the faces of investors. After a long time, the BSE Sensex has crossed the historic figure of 80,000, which is an encouraging sign for investors. The Sensex today opened at 80,142.09 with a massive jump of 546.50 points, while the NSE Nifty opened at 24,357.60 with a gain of 190.35 points.

Earlier on Tuesday, the market had registered gains for the sixth consecutive day, with the Sensex closing at 79,595.59, up 187.09 points, and the Nifty closing at 24,167.25, up 41.70 points. The main reason for this rise was the active buying by foreign institutional investors (FIIs), as well as strength was also seen in the banking and FMCG sectors.

Which companies' shares saw the highest growth?

The excellent performance of many companies contributed to this rise in the market. HCL Technologies (HCLTECH) stock rose by a huge 6.31% to reach ₹ 1558.75, making it one of the top gainers. Tech Mahindra (TECHM) also touched ₹ 1414.00 with a gain of 2.79%. At the same time, Infosys (INFY) traded at ₹ 1451.45 with a strength of 2.04%.

IndusInd Bank (INDUSINDBK) and Tata Motors (TATAMOTORS) showed a rise of 1.82% and 1.10% respectively, which shows the strength of the banking and auto sectors. Blue chip stocks like SBI, Nestle India, Maruti, NTPC, and Bharti Airtel also saw a positive trend.

Which stocks declined?

Although the overall market was bullish, the shares of some companies faced a decline. Shares of UltraTech Cement, Hindustan Unilever, and Kotak Mahindra Bank registered a slight decline. UltraTech shares fell by 0.10%, HUL by 0.13% and Kotak Bank by 0.48%.
