Rape / Brutality like Nirbhaya with 12 year old boy in Delhi condition deteriorated admitted to ICU

Rape | The victim is undergoing treatment after a 12-year-old boy was assaulted and allegedly raped by three friends in North-East Delhi's New Seelampur area. The boy is being treated in the ICU of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash (LNJP) Hospital. A rod was inserted in the victim's private part on the alleged round.

According to the information, the minor boy told his parents about the attack on Thursday, four days after the incident. Following this, his parents informed the DCW and the boy was admitted to the hospital in a 'very critical condition'. In a statement submitted to the SHO of Seelampur Police Station, DCW Chief Swati Maliwal said this information has been given. Presently the boy is being treated at LNJP Hospital and his condition is said to be critical in ICU.

On September 22, police received information from Lok Nayak Jayaprakash (LNJP) Hospital that a 12-year-old boy was admitted after physical torture, officials said. Officials said a police team reached the hospital and met the boy's parents, who refused to give a statement. After this, the police arranged for a counselor from an organization named Sakhi and the boy and his mother were counselled, a senior police officer said.

Case registered under these sections

After extensive counselling, the victim's mother revealed that her son was assaulted and molested by three of his friends on September 18, the official said. Based on his statement, a case has been registered under sections 377 (unnatural acts) and 34 (like intent) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO), the official said. Police said the victim is still under medical observation. The DCW has sought a detailed report on the details of the arrested accused and action taken along with the copy of the FIR registered in the case by September 28.

Two arrested, police searching for third accused

Police officials said that the two accused have been apprehended and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and efforts are on to nab the third boy. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued a notice to the police in this case, demanding strict action against the accused. The DCW said it received a complaint from a woman that said that her son was sexually assaulted by the accused who inserted a rod in his genitals. However, the police said that the investigation so far has not revealed that the rod was inserted in the victim's genitals, but a medical examination will reveal this. The victim and the accused are neighbors and they all belong to the age group of 10-12 years. Police said that they belong to the same community.

DCW team present with family

DCW chief Swati Maliwal said, 'It is a very horrific incident. The boy was gang-raped by four men, who thrashed him mercilessly by inserting a rod in his genitals. Maliwal said, “The boy is presently admitted in the hospital and is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our team is constantly present with the family and helping them. The accused should be arrested immediately and strictest action should be taken against them.
