In January 2023, Chief Minister Shinde and some of his ministers participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. During this, a Swiss company had provided various services related to his visit, which have not been paid till now. This bill is of Rs 1.58 crore, which has not been paid till now, and the company has issued a legal notice to MIDC regarding this.

Legal notice received in August

The notice sent by the Swiss company was received on August 28, which clearly stated that the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has not yet paid the dues of Rs 1.58 crore. Earlier, MIDC had paid an amount of Rs 3.75 crore, but the payment of this balance is pending.

Notice with proof of services

The Swiss company has also submitted proof of bills for the services provided during the WEF held in January 2023 with its notice. The company claims that they had provided high-level services to CM Shinde and his ministers from January 15 to 19, for which this outstanding amount has not been paid yet.

Opposition attack

After this controversy came to the fore, the opposition has targeted Chief Minister Shinde and his government. Opposition parties say that there should be transparency regarding the expenses incurred by government officials and ministers during foreign trips. Also, they are questioning the government as to why such a huge amount of expenditure is pending, and this is a serious administrative negligence.
