New Delhi: Ahead of the assembly elections in Gujarat, Congress working president Hardik Patel termed the speculation of joining BJP as part of political rumours. However, he said that he has a complaint with the party leadership regarding some issues. Because my responsibilities in Congress have not been decided yet. Hardik Patel also said that he has no problem with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Sonia Gandhi.

In a special conversation with NDTV, Hardik Patel said that, we are a different type of leader because we do not come from any political family. We have worked in Gujarat and made our own identity. I do not want to put pressure on the party leadership to give me an effective post before the elections.

Hardik Patel said that I have no godfather in Delhi who can help me. Whatever I want to do, I have to do it on my own.

No face-to-face meeting of Rahul Gandhi and Hardik Patel on Gujarat tour: Report

Hardik Patel said that, till now my role in the party has not been decided, so it is important that my responsibility is fixed. If the party Congress has made me the working president of the party in the state, then you should also fix my responsibilities, as in other states. It's been 2 years since I joined the party but you couldn't decide any role for me, why so?

Earlier on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Gujarat, avoided meeting with Hardik Patel. According to the TOI report, Rahul Gandhi shared the stage with Hardik Patel at a rally in Dahod, but avoided meeting him alone. Rahul Gandhi is believed to be upset with Hardik Patel openly criticizing the state Congress leadership.
