Ruturaj Gaikwad is the captain of Team India

The 19th edition of the Asian Games is scheduled to begin on September 19. There will be a total of 40 different sports in this tournament. The Asian Games 2023 will conclude on October 8. The command of the Indian cricket team in the Asian Games has been handed over to young Ruturaj Gaikwad and those players who have performed brilliantly in IPL and domestic cricket have got a chance in the team.

Team India will play its first match on 3 October

The Asian Games 2023 cricket tournament will be played in T20 format. All matches will be played at Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Ground. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have already qualified for the quarter-finals based on their rankings. Team India will play its first match in the Asian Games 2023 on 3 October.

Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the Indian women's team, while opening batsman Smriti Mandhana is the vice-captain. The team also includes other stars like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh. The women's cricket competition will be held between 19 and 28 September. This will be only the third time that cricket is going to be included in the Asian Games as a sport.
