Los Angeles Olympics: This time, the game of cricket was included in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games after years. Indian teams won gold medals in both men's and women's cricket in the Asian Games. After which the fans were eagerly waiting for when cricket would be included in the Olympic Games. Now the wait of the fans is over and it has been announced to include cricket in the Olympic Games as well.

Cricket was included in the Olympics

The game of cricket has been included in the 2028 Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles. Apart from this, IOC has made 4 more new sports a part of the Olympic Games. The five sports included in the Olympic Games are cricket, baseball, softball, flag football and squash. This was announced by IOC President Thomas Bach himself.

Work will be done in collaboration with ICC

Bach said that we will work with the ICC. We will not work with individual cricket officials of any country. With the support of ICC we will see how cricket can be made more popular. Let us tell you that cricket has already been a part of the Olympics once in 1900 in Paris. But since then cricket has never been a part of the Olympics.

The event will be held in T20 format

During its presentation to the LA28, the ICC had recommended a 6-team T20 event for both men and women. Participating teams will include the top 6 ranked ICC men's and women's T20 rankings on the cut-off date. The ICC proposed the T20 format as the best format because both LA28 and the IOC had insisted that the format should be the one in which the World Championships were held (for example, the T10 format was rejected), its There was a brief period (that is, outside ODIs) and there was a lot of interest from the audience.
