Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have scored a hat-trick of victories in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 49 runs at the Eden Gardens ground. Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway and Shivam Dubey were the heroes of the team in batting. In the same bowling, Tushar Deshpande and Mahish Teekshana took 2-2 wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway and Shivam Dubey were the heroes of the team in batting. In the same bowling, Tushar Deshpande and Mahish Teekshana took 2-2 wickets.

Rinku Singh and Jason Roy from Kolkata put Fifty. Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai scored 235 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs in the last match of the double header on Sunday. In reply, Kolkata could only manage 186 runs for 8 wickets.

Roy's Fifty in 19 balls

Jason Roy came to the crease after losing the third wicket in the 8th over. He hit 3 sixes in the first 3 balls only. Roy did not stop even after the dismissal of Nitish Rana in the next over. After completing Fifty in 19 balls, he scored 61 runs in 26 balls with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes. He was bowled by Mahish Teekshana but brought his team back into the game.

Poor start in powerplay

Chasing a mammoth target of 236 runs, Kolkata got off to a bad start. The team lost the wickets of Sunil Narine in the first over and Narayan Jagadeesan in the second over. Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana handled the innings, but the team could only manage 38 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs.

First: On the fourth ball of the first over, Akash Singh bowled Sunil Narine. Naren could not even open his account.

Second: Tushar Deshpande bowled a bouncer in the second ball of the second over. Narayan Jagadeesan is caught at long leg. He scored a run.

Third: The first ball of the 8th over, Moeen Ali bowled a good length on the middle stump. Venkatesh Iyer got LBW in the sweep shot. He scored 20 runs.

Fourth: Ravindra Jadeja bowled the second ball of the ninth over to a good length on the off side. Nitish Rana played a sweep shot but was caught at deep mid-wicket. He scored 27 runs.

Fifth: The third ball of the 15th over was bowled by Mahish Teekshana. Jason Roy gets bowled. He scored 61 runs off 26 balls.

IPL 2023 biggest score

Chennai scored a score of 235 runs in 20 overs. This is the biggest score of this season. The team broke the record of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad scored 228 runs against Kolkata on April 14 at the Eden Gardens ground itself. The third big score of the season is in the name of Chennai only. The team scored 226 against Bengaluru on 17 April at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Rahane-Dube's explosive partnership

After the fall of Conway's wicket, Ajinkya Rahane along with Shivam Dubey accelerated the Chennai innings. Both made a partnership of 85 runs in just 32 balls. In this partnership, Ajinkya Rahane scored 33 off 11 balls and Shivam Dubey scored 50 off 21 balls. This partnership broke after Dubey's dismissal. Rahane played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs in 29 balls.

Conway's fourth consecutive fifty

CSK opener Devon Conway completed Fifty in 34 balls. This is his fourth consecutive fifty in the tournament and seventh fifty of his IPL career. He became the victim of Varun Chakraborty after scoring 56 runs in 40 balls. Conway had also scored fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals before Kolkata.

Dhoni played 3 balls

In the rest of the CSK batters, Rituraj Gaikwad scored 35 off 20 balls, Ravindra Jadeja scored 18 off 8 balls and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 2 off 3 balls. Shivam Dubey got out after scoring 50 runs. Kulwant Khejroliya took 2 wickets from Kolkata. Whereas Varun Chakraborty and Suyash Sharma got 1-1 wickets.

CSK's fast start in Powerplay

Electing to bat first after losing the toss, Devon Conway and Rituraj Gaikwad got Chennai Super Kings off to a brisk start. Both took the team's score to 59 without loss in the powerplay. Gaikwad was the victim of Suyash Sharma after scoring 35 runs in 20 balls, but before getting out, he had shared a 73-run partnership with Conway.

Second: Varun Chakraborty bowled the first ball of the 13th over to a good length on the off side. Devon Conway is caught at long off. He scored 56 runs off 40 balls.

Third: Third ball of the 18th over, Kulwant Khejroliya bowled a fuller length on the off side. Shivam Dubey is caught out at long off.

Fourth: The fourth ball of the 20th over, Kulwant Khejroliya bowled a full toss on the leg stump. Ravindra Jadeja was caught out at long leg.

2 changes in Kolkata

David Visa makes his debut from Kolkata, replacing Liton Das. And Narayan Jagdeesan got a chance in place of Mandeep Singh. Chennai has not made any changes in its team. Venkatesh Iyer from Kolkata and Akash Singh from Chennai will join as impact players in the second innings.
