RCB vs RR: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have finally registered their first win of the season at their home ground M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In this high voltage match played on Friday, RCB defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs. This victory was not only important in terms of the points table, but also proved to be very important for the team in terms of confidence.

Strong batting by Kohli and Padikkal

After losing the toss and coming out to bat first, Bangalore got off to a great start. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave a solid base to the team and shared a 61-run partnership for the first wicket. After Salt (26 runs) was dismissed in the seventh over, Kohli was joined by Devdutt Padikkal and together they took the innings to new heights.

Kohli batted in his classic style and scored 70 runs in 42 balls, which included eight fours and two sixes. This was the 60th half-century of his IPL career. Padikkal also returned to his old form and scored 50 runs in just 27 balls. Apart from this, Tim David (23 runs) and Jitesh Sharma (20 runs not out) also contributed to the team reaching a strong score of 205 runs.

Rajasthan's struggling innings

Chasing the target of 206 runs, Rajasthan Royals got off to a balanced start. Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 runs) and Dhruv Jurel (47 runs) gave the team hope of victory, but the run rate was affected due to quick wickets falling in the middle order.

The 19th over became the turning point of the match, when Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets for just 1 run. Rajasthan batsmen were seen falling in front of Hazlewood's accurate line and length. He took 4 wickets for 33 runs in a total of 4 overs and became a strong contender for 'Man of the Match'.

Yash Dayal did wonders

When Rajasthan needed 17 runs in the last over, the command of the bowling was in the hands of Yash Dayal. He not only handled the pressure but also took a wicket while conceding just 5 runs. His tight bowling gave RCB its first win of the season.

Bowlers shine

Hazlewood was the most successful bowler for Bangalore. At the same time, Krunal Pandya also impressed with his bowling and took 2 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal got one wicket each. Sandeep Sharma took two wickets for Rajasthan, while Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga took one wicket each.
