Weather Update: It is extremely cold in the national capital Delhi. Dense fog was seen on the roads of Delhi early Saturday morning. Due to fog, visibility on the road was around 500 meters. Due to this, people are facing a lot of problems while driving. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was 9.6 degrees. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 24.4 degrees. Along with cold, Delhiites are forced to bear the brunt of pollution. December is about to end but Delhi's air pollution has not reduced yet.The Air Quality Index (AQI) level of many areas of Delhi has reached close to 500. AQI level was recorded at 418 in Delhi's Alipur, 450 in Shadipur, 470 in Jahanhirpuri and 460 in Bawana. Due to pollution, Grape-3 has been implemented in Delhi. The Center has banned non-essential construction work and BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel cars amid worsening pollution in Delhi-NCR.It is colder in Rajasthan than in Delhi.At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, many districts of Rajasthan are experiencing more cold than Delhi. The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.4 in Sikar district of Rajasthan. There was light rain in Bhilwara, Banasthali, Jodhpur and Phalodi of Rajasthan on Saturday. Due to rain, the minimum temperature of Rajasthan is falling.Period of rain and snowfall in HimachalThere was heavy snowfall in the high altitude areas of the hill states of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Lahaul-Spiti area of Himachal has been the coldest. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 0.1 degree Celsius and it is snowing heavily. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla and Sirmaur of Himachal.Mercury dropped in Punjab and HaryanaThe effect of cold is visible in many districts of Punjab and Haryana. The minimum temperature recorded in Bathinda on Saturday was 6 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperatures in Ludhiana, Patiala and Amritsar were 9.2 degrees, 8.6 degrees and 11 degrees respectively. Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 10.3 degrees.
