Fog is continuously increasing in Delhi-NCR. Thursday's rain increased the cold. Due to dense fog on Friday morning, the speed of vehicles slowed down. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert, predicting fog till January 18-19 and rain on January 21-22.

Delhi Weather Update: The capital Delhi is wrapped in a thick blanket of fog these days. The weather took a turn throughout the day on Thursday. Light sunshine in the morning gave some relief from the cold, but the rain in the evening brought down the temperature. Dense fog is now being seen everywhere in Delhi-NCR, due to which the speed of vehicles has slowed down in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the fog will remain in the coming days and the cold will continue.

Fog increased trouble

Friday morning started with dense fog in Delhi-NCR. This fog slowed down the speed of vehicles on the road, causing problems in traffic. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding fog. It is estimated that the effect of fog will remain till January 18-19. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR on January 21 and 22.

Cold increased after rain

On Thursday, Delhi and its surrounding areas received light to moderate rain, due to which the cold again took hold. According to the Safdarjung Meteorological Center, Delhi recorded 3.7 mm of rain, while Palam recorded 8.6 mm, Pusa 7.5 mm and Mayur Vihar 4 mm of rain. Thursday's minimum temperature was 10.3 degrees Celsius, which was slightly above normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 19.6 degrees Celsius, which is close to the season's average.

Forecast for the coming days

The Meteorological Department says that it will be partly cloudy on Friday as well, but dense fog will trouble people in the morning. The effect of cold is likely to continue till the end of January. The series of rains along with fog can make the weather even colder.

The risk of road accidents has increased due to dense fog. In such a situation, drivers have been advised to drive slowly and use fog lights. Apart from this, in view of the changing mood of the weather, there is a need to keep yourself warm and especially take care of children and the elderly.
