Ranchi: After the 2019 World Cup and before his retirement, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had shown all what all he could be doing and gave fans a glimpse of his organic farming.Now, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper is going to do the work of Kadaknath- the highly nutritious Black Chicken variety from Madhya Pradesh's Bheelanchal region.Dhoni will be farming the Kadaknath chicken in his Ranchi farmhouse and has ordered 2000 chicks from a poultry farmer in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.The proud farmer Vinod Medha, a resident of a village has been given December 15 as the deadline to supply the 2000 Kadaknath chicks to Dhoni's team in Ranchi."Three months ago, Dhoni’s farm managers got in touch with me through the Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) and MP Kadaknath mobile phone app. Five days ago, I got the order for 2000 chicks, which I've to deliver in Ranchi by December 15. The advance payment for the 2000 chicks has already been credited in my account by the team managing Dhoni's farm. I'm proud to be supplying Kadaknath chicks to the farm of one of the most famous cricketers of the country," farmer Vinod Medha said, Indian Express reported.As for Dhoni who played international cricket for 16 years, announced his retirement on August 15, 2020. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, Team India won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.Karkanath chicken:Kadaknathis dark-coloured meat and has significantly lower fat and cholesterol than other species of chicken. The protein content in it is relatively high and it also has medicinal properties with different taste. This is a rooster that has 1.94 per cent fat while other chickens have 25 per cent. If the cholesterol level is 59mg in it, then in other chickens, this quantity is 218mg.The country’s Geographical Indications Registry has also registered the Geographical Identification (GI) name of Kadaknath chicken in the category of “Meat Products and Poultry and Poultry Meat”.
