Difference of two days in Maharashtra and Uttarakhand

Mumbai and Uttarakhand have different opinions about Diwali. There was a trend of celebrating Diwali on October 31 in Mumbai, but this time it will be celebrated on November 1 in many areas. In Uttarakhand too, according to astrology, November 1 has been fixed as the day of Diwali. In many places in these states, government holiday was declared on October 31, due to which many people celebrated Diwali on the same day.

According to religious texts, if there is a combination of Amavasya in Pradosh Kaal for two days, then it is considered best to worship Lakshmi on the Amavasya of the second day. Therefore, according to the Udayatithi, Diwali is being celebrated today on 1st November in places like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Mumbai.
