The University of Delhi is considering naming its future university at Fatehpur Beri in honor of Delhi's first female head of state, Sushma Swaraj, officials said on Saturday. The name of the college will be decided by the Academic Council and the Executive Council of the university.

“Several other names have also been proposed with Swaraj. The names of Swami Vivekananda and Veer Savarkar are also under consideration,” an official said.

According to DU Registrar Vikas Gupta, a proposed support center and college, the name of which has not yet been finalized, will be built at Bhatti Kalan Gaon in Fatehpur Beri as part of a 100-year university apprenticeship.

"The name of the college will be finalized by the academic board and executive board of the university. The name of the former CM is also being considered," he said.

Gupta said it is not yet final, however, whether the next university will be female or female.

Since this is a remote area, there may be fewer female contestants, according to an official. Union Education Minister

Dharmendra Pradhan will lay the foundation stone for the 40bigha Field Support Center assigned to the university by the district government on Sunday. BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri will also be present at the event.

“The support center will allow DU students, living in and around Bhatti Kalan, to complete various processes including admission, testing with ease without having to travel long distances,” Gupta said.
