France News: French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to complete his five-year term even though recent political turmoil has put his government in a difficult situation. Prime Minister Michel Barnier had to resign after a no-confidence motion in Parliament, but Macron made it clear that he would continue his duties to ensure the stability and security of the country.

Addressing the nation from the Elysee Palace on Thursday, Macron said, "I will complete the five-year term you have democratically entrusted to me. My responsibility is to ensure the continuity of the state, the smooth functioning of our institutions and the safety of the French people."

A new prime minister will be selected soon

In his address, Macron indicated that steps would be taken to form a new government. He said, "From today, a new era must begin, where everyone has to work for France. In the coming days, I will appoint a new prime minister who will lead a government that will represent all political forces and work in the common interest."

The President also said that the new Prime Minister will consult with all political parties and form a tough and effective government.

Appreciation of Barnier's contribution

Macron praised the resigned Prime Minister Michel Barnier and praised his dedication and perseverance. He said, "The Prime Minister worked for the country in difficult times, when others were avoiding coming forward. I thank him and his team for their efforts."

Macron also expressed his gratitude to Barnier on the social media platform X, writing, "I thank Michel Barnier for his work for our country."

How the Barnier government fell

The French Parliament has 577 seats, out of which 331 MPs voted in favor of a no-confidence motion against the Barnier government. The main reason for this political development was the government's use of special powers to pass budget measures without parliamentary approval. Left and right parties opposed this move and presented a motion against the government.

The Barnier government lasted just 91 days, becoming France's first government in six decades to fall through a no-confidence vote. This instability has come at a time when the country is grappling with economic challenges and budget deficits.

Hope for the beginning of a new era

President Macron emphasized on ambition and unity regarding the future of France. He said that now the time has come for all political parties of France to work on common goals and make new agreements to take the country forward. Macron said in his speech, "We cannot afford division or inaction. France needs everyone's cooperation to move forward."

With this statement, Macron made it clear that he is committed to turning the current political crisis into an opportunity and will take all necessary steps in the interest of the French people.
