Erdogan's support

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan supported India's permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He said that if India becomes a permanent member of UNSC, Turkey will be proud of it. Erdogan stressed that all non-P5 members should have the opportunity to become Security Council members by rotation. Erdogan said that this world is bigger than five countries. Let us tell you that the five permanent members of UNSC include America, China, France, Britain and Russia.

Biden gave support

US President Joe Biden has also supported India's permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council in his meeting with PM Modi. He said that global governance needs to be made more inclusive and representative. Biden said that the US supports India's permanent membership to reform the UN Security Council.

PM Modi gave statement

Citing the UN Security Council at the G20 summit, Modi had said that global bodies should reflect today's realities to lead the world towards a better future. He said that when the United Nations was established with 51 members, the world was different and now the number of member countries has increased to about 200. Despite this, the permanent members of UNSC are still the same. From then till today the world has changed a lot in every respect. The Prime Minister had said that we have to consider with an open mind what is the reason that many regional forums have come into existence in the past years, and these are also proving to be effective. Advocating reforms, he said that a historic initiative has been taken by making the African Union a member of the G20.
