The company investigating the cause of the incident

This underwater pipeline connects Pemex's flagship Ku Malub Zap Oil Development Center at sea. Cu Malub Zap is located in the southern part of the Gulf of Mexico. According to Pemex, the fire started after a gas leak at around 5:15 a.m. Friday local time. Oil production was not affected by this incident. The fire was extinguished by ten thirty. The company said the cause of the fire is under investigation and the leak hole in the pipeline has been sealed.
