A person from Kerala had died on Saturday. He had recently come back from UAE. Now monkeypox virus has been found in his test report. State Health Minister has given this information. Minister Veena George said the patient was young and was not suffering from any other disease or health problems. Therefore, the health department is investigating the cause of his death.

Meanwhile, sources said that the youth had recently returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). There too he was confirmed to be infected with the monkeypox virus. His samples were taken in UAE on 19 July and he returned to India on 21 July. After this, on July 27, he was admitted to the Thrissur hospital. The youth's samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for testing. Sources said, 'The infection was confirmed in his samples on Monday.'

Sources said that according to the relatives of the deceased, they were informed on July 30 that his samples taken in UAE also confirmed the infection. The young man died on 30 July itself. Kerala Health Minister Veena George had said on Sunday that the health department would ascertain the cause of death of the youth. He had said that the patient was young and was not suffering from any other disease or health problem. Therefore, the health department is ascertaining the cause of his death. George said they would also find out why there was a delay in getting him admitted to the hospital after his return from the UAE on July 21.
