Drone delivery trial from June 18

Although this drone medicine service could have started much earlier, it was delayed due to the corona epidemic. The companies that will provide these services include Throttle Aerospace Systems (TAS) of Bangalore, which got approval from DGCA in March 2020. TAS has received all the clearances and will start the trial from June 18 at Gauribidanur, 80 km from Bengaluru, which will last for 30-45 days. Throttle Aerospace Systems said that the approval for the trial was received from DGCA only on 20 March 2020. But due to the Corona epidemic, some work was left which has now been completed.

Multiple partners in consortium

Apart from TAS, Narayana Health is also a partner in this consortium, which will provide the drugs which will be used during the trial. in this consortium

Involi-Swiss, a specialist in air traffic awareness systems for professional drone applications. Which will provide un-armed traffic management system. Apart from this, Honeywell Aerospace is working as a safety expert. This consortium will use two types of drones. This includes MedCOPTER and TAS. The on-demand delivery software is named RANDINT.

Drone will carry 1, 2 kg of luggage

TAS CEO Nagendran Kandasamy says that the smaller variant of MedCOPTER can carry a weight of 1 kg up to 15 km. While the other can carry 2 kg weight up to 12 km. We will test both of them for 30-45 days, during which we will fly 100 kms as per the instructions of DGCA. Our target is to fly around 125 hours. After the trial, it will be handed over to the authorities for review.
