GNSS Tolling System: If you also travel by car or bus on the highway, then you will be happy to read this news. Even after the implementation of the Fastag system for toll of vehicles, it takes a lot of time to get out of the toll plaza. But now you are expected to get rid of this problem during the third term of the Modi government. Yes, NHAI is working on such a system, which will not take you time at the toll plaza and the toll will be paid easily. This system is expected to be fully implemented in the third term of the Modi government.

You will not find any barrier and the car will go out quickly

After the implementation of this system, you will not find any kind of barrier at the toll and your car will go out quickly. Keeping this in mind, NHAI has invited Expression of Interest (EOI) from new technology companies across the world to collect toll without stopping. Its purpose is to create an electronic toll collection system, which will be based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This will make the work of collecting toll from vehicles easier. NHAI is planning to bring a new electronic toll collection system by combining it with the existing Fastag system.

Initially both systems will work together

This entire system will be based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Initially both systems will work together. That is, the Fastags currently installed in the vehicles will also work and the new GNSS systems will also be used. Vehicles in which the GNSS based system will be active will have a separate lane at the toll plaza. You will not need to stop while taking the car out of this lane. As the new system is introduced in vehicles, the old lanes at the toll plaza will be removed and only the GNSS lanes will remain active.

Expression of Interest can be sent till July 22

To take advantage of the new GNSS technology, NHAI is looking for companies worldwide that can develop better toll collection software. In simple words, this software will play an important role in tracking vehicles and collecting toll amount according to the route traveled by them. The entire plan to implement this plan has also been released by NHAI and suggestions have also been invited in it. Companies interested in this entire plan can tell about their interest by emailing tenders@ihmcl.com by 3 pm on July 22.

With the implementation of GNSS based electronic tolling system in the country, the movement of vehicles on the highway will become easier. This will enable toll collection without any interruption in driving. Also, the toll will be charged only for the part of the route on which the vehicle has travelled; you will not have to pay toll for the entire highway.
