Anant-Radhika Wedding: Entry based on QR codes sent to individual mobile phones, colour-coded paper wristbands for entry to different areas, and emergency medical arrangements reserved for heads of state helped make the wedding of Anant, the youngest son of Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant a success. Global celebrities, businessmen, cricketers, filmstars and politicians of all kinds attended the wedding on Friday at the Ambani family-owned Jio World Centre in Mumbai's BKC.

Confirmation of attendance was sought through email or Google Form

Guests were asked to confirm their presence through email or Google Form. QR codes were shared with those who confirmed their attendance six hours before the event. Entry into the venue was allowed by scanning QR codes and emails sent to mobile phones. Here, different coloured paper wristbands were tied on the wrists of all the guests, which gave them entry to different areas based on colour. Several film stars and cricketers, as well as Korean electronics giant Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Jae-yong and his wife wore pink wristbands on the wedding day and red wristbands on Saturday.

Staff wore different coloured wristbands

Staff, security and service staff wore different coloured wristbands. Two sources in the know said a multi-layered security cover had secured the huge venue. Firefighting and other emergency plans were worked out, while emergency medical arrangements reserved for heads of state were put in place. Routes for ambulances to the nearest hospitals were clearly laid out. "The Ambanis did not want to leave anything to chance," a source revealed. Another source said the time between the sending of the QR codes and the actual event was reduced this time as some people had "sold" entry passes to non-invitees at the Ambani family's last wedding.
