Khan Sir: Candidates have been protesting for the last several days at the Gardnibagh Dharna site in Patna, the capital of Bihar, demanding the cancellation of the 70th prelims examination of BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission). During the protest, the health of the candidates sitting on hunger strike suddenly deteriorated on the night of Monday 23 December. He was admitted to PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital) in Patna in critical condition.

Khan Sir boosted the morale of the candidates

Famous YouTuber and educator Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, visited these candidates admitted in PMCH. Seeing the condition of the candidates, he expressed concern and said, "These students have been on hunger strike for 4-5 days, but no one is coming to take care of them. Their condition has now become critical. The infection has spread to the chest and the kidney function report is also negative. We have to encourage them and the commission should pay attention to their problems."

Demand for CCTV footage and narco test

Khan Sir said that he has filed a PIL in the High Court. He demanded that the CCTV footage of the examination centers be made public and those suspected should be subjected to narco test. If needed, he will go to the Supreme Court. He urged the commission and the government to take the demands of the protesters seriously.

Condition of candidates admitted in PMCH

Among the candidates sitting on hunger strike, Rahul Kumar (32, District East Champaran), Ashutosh Anand (35, Raghopur, District Vaishali), and Tsunami Guru alias Sujit (40 years) were immediately admitted to PMCH after their health deteriorated. Their condition is said to be critical.

Pappu Yadav also supported

Former MP from Purnia Pappu Yadav has also supported the hunger strike candidates. He demanded cancellation of the entire BPSC examination and re-examination. On social media, he wrote, "It will be injustice to the students if the examination is not cancelled. The commission should clearly conduct the examination with a new set. Re-examination is in the interest of the students."

Demands of the candidates and the way forward

The candidates protesting say that there have been widespread irregularities in the BPSC 70th prelims exam. They demand that the exam be canceled and the re-examination be conducted in a fair manner. At present, the hunger strike and demonstration are continuing. Many political and social organizations have also raised their voice in support of the candidates.

This matter is not only related to the future of the students, but also raises questions on the transparency and fairness of administrative examinations in Bihar. Now it remains to be seen what action the commission and the government take on this.
