Indian Cricket Team: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to announce the central contract for Indian cricketers soon. Usually, this announcement is made without much delay, but due to preparations and participation in the Champions Trophy 2025, it was slightly postponed. Now that the Indian team has returned home after winning the Champions Trophy, an official announcement from BCCI is likely soon. Let’s understand BCCI’s central contract policy and the salaries players receive under it.
BCCI's Central Contract Policy
BCCI categorizes players into four grades based on which they receive their annual contracts. These grades are as follows:

- Rohit Sharma
- Virat Kohli
- Jasprit Bumrah
- Ravindra Jadeja
Players in this grade receive an annual salary of ₹7 crore from BCCI.

3. Grade B
Players in Grade B are regular members of the Indian team but do not fall under the Grade A category. They receive an annual salary of ₹3 crore from BCCI.
4. Grade C
This grade includes players who play for Team India but have limited appearances or are emerging talents. Additionally, players who are currently out of the Indian squad but remain active also fall under this category. They receive an annual salary of ₹1 crore from BCCI.
Additional Match Fees
Apart from the annual contract salary, players also receive match fees based on the games they play.
- Extra match fees are provided for Test matches.
- Players participating in ODIs receive a fixed match fee.
- T20 International matches also have separate payments.
Possible Changes Expected
The information provided here is based on BCCI’s previous central contract structure. If BCCI introduces any changes this time, they will be clarified only after the official announcement. It will be interesting to see which players retain their positions in the new contract and which new faces make it to the list.
