WINE SHOPS CLOSED / Hundreds of liquor shops locked, Delhi-UP border shops also closed; Know the reason

The first phase of voting for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections (UP Election 2022) is on 10 February tomorrow. Keeping the election in mind, the administration has decided to close all the liquor shops. Especially all the liquor shops of Delhi Border (Delhi) connected with Ghaziabad and Noida will remain closed. All those shops which will be within 100 meters of the border will be under the purview of this order.

Locks hanging on shops

Liquor shops were closed on Tuesday evening which will continue till today and tomorrow i.e. Wednesday and Thursday. That is, the lock will be found hanging on these liquor shops. The Excise Commissioner of Delhi has given information about this by issuing a notice. According to the notice, there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor from 6 pm on February 8 till the voting ends on February 10.

It is necessary for all license holders to follow the order

It has been said in the notice that this order will be applicable to all the license holders of the Excise Department. All shops or bars that come within 100 meters of the Delhi-UP border, people reaching there are returning empty-handed. It is worth noting that in the first phase of the UP assembly elections, voting to be held on February 10, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad are also included.

Dry day on 10th march

According to the government order, on March 10 i.e. the day of counting of votes in UP, that is, the day of counting of votes will also be a dry day. On March 10 also, all liquor contracts falling under this purview will be completely closed.
