Kush- Kush is considered very auspicious in Hinduism. The use of Kush is prominently in worship. It is believed that Kush originated from the Rome of Lord Vishnu. By making a dying person lie on the seat of Kush, he gets a place in heaven even without performing Shradh.

Sesame- Til has special significance in the Shraddha Paksha. The ancestors are offered tarpan with water mixed with black sesame seeds.
