Canada : India has issued a special advisory for the safety of its citizens living in Canada. The Foreign Ministry said in its statement that there has been an increase in hate crime, communal violence and anti-India activities in Canada. In such a situation, Indian citizens and Indians traveling to Canada are advised to exercise caution and remain vigilant. "The perpetrators of these crimes have not yet been brought to justice in Canada," the advisory said.Indians can take help from High CommissionIndian citizens and students in Canada can contact the High Commission in Ottawa or the Consulate General in Toronto and Vancouver through the website or MADAD portal, the advisory said. Such registration would allow Indian missions to "better engage with Indian citizens in Canada in the event of any need or emergency".Significantly, there are about 1.6 million people of Indian origin living in Canada. Apart from this, Canada also has 17 MPs of Indian origin and three cabinet ministers, including Defense Minister Anita Anand.
