In the first session of the fourth day on Sunday, the Indian team scored the required runs for 7 wickets with the help of Shreyas-Ashwin's half-century partnership. Both added an unbeaten 71 runs for the 8th wicket. On the third day, unbeaten Akshar Patel was dismissed after scoring 34 runs. While Night Watchman Jaydev Unadkat could score 13 runs. Apart from these two, Rishabh Pant added 9 runs. Shreyas Iyer scored 29 not out and Ashwin scored 42 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 5 wickets from Bangladesh. Captain Shakib Al Hasan got 2 successes.

Bangladesh scored 231 runs in the second innings and gave India a target of 145 runs to win. Earlier, India scored 314 and Bangladesh scored 227 runs in the first innings.

Liton Das (73) scored a half-century in Bangladesh's second innings. This is his 15th Test half-century. He shared a 46-run partnership with Nurul Hasan and 60 with Taskin Ahmed. Due to these partnerships, the team scored 231 runs. At one point the team had lost 5 wickets for 102 runs.

Before Liton, Zakir Hasan (51) completed his maiden Test half-century. Hasan made his debut in the last match. A century came from his bat in that match.
