In the case of kidnapping of a 17-year-old youth from Arunachal Pradesh, there has been a response from China. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said during a media briefing on Thursday that it has no reports of abduction of any youth by the Chinese Army- People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Arunachal's Upper Siang district. However, the ministry spokesperson also said that the PLA guards its borders and checks illegal infiltration attempts.

Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao said on Wednesday that the PLA kidnapped a 17-year-old boy, Miram Tarom, from Indian territory in the state's Upper Siang district. He had also informed the Minister of State for Home Nitish Pramanik about this whole matter.

When the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry was questioned on Thursday on this incident of kidnapping by the PLA, he refused to know about the whole matter. He said that the Chinese army protects the borders according to our law and curbs cases of illegal infiltration.

This reply of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has come at a time when the Indian Army informed the Chinese Army that a boy has lost his way and is not being traced. It has been told that as soon as the Indian Army got information about Tarom's disappearance, the PLA was immediately contacted through the hotline. The Indian Army, through official contact, has sought China to trace the boy and return him safely as per the established protocol. The Defense Office at Tezpur gave this information on Thursday.
