Gold Smuggling: Kannada film industry's well-known actress Ranya Rao has been embroiled in a big controversy these days. Recently she was arrested at the airport with 17 kg of gold. During police interrogation, Ranya confessed that this gold was smuggled to India not only from Dubai but also from other countries.

Shocking revelations in the investigation

Investigating officers found that Ranya had made four trips to Dubai in the last one month. When she returned from Dubai recently after suspecting her frequent foreign trips, she was thoroughly checked at the airport. During this, more than 14 kg of gold was recovered from her, after which she was immediately taken into custody.
