COVID-19 / India registers 35,499 new cases of Covid, a recovery rate of 97.39%.

With 35,499 more people testing positive for COVID19, the number of infections in India now stands at 3.19.69.954 while the death toll rose to 4.28.309 with 447 new deaths on Monday, according to the Union Ministry of Health. The number of active cases has dropped to 4.02.188, which is 1.27 per cent of total infections, and the national recovery rate from COVID19 has improved to 97.39 per cent.

With 35,499 more people testing positive for COVID19, the number of infections in India now stands at 3.19.69.954 while the death toll rose to 4.28.309 with 447 new deaths on Monday, according to the Union Ministry of Health. The number of active cases has dropped to 4.02.188, which is 1.27 percent of total infections, and the national recovery rate from COVID19 has improved to 97.39 percent, data was updated by the ministry at 8 a.m.   


The number of active COVID19 cases was found to have decreased by 4,634 cases in a 24-hour period.  The number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 3,11,39,457 while the death rate is 1.34 percent according to the data. 13,71,871 COVID19 tests were carried out across the country on Sunday. 


So the total number of tests of this type is 48,17,67,232. The daily positivity rate was measured at 2.59 percent, down from less than 3 percent for the past 14 days, the ministry said, adding that the weekly positivity rate was measured at 2.35 percent.  


A total of 50.86 billion COVID19 vaccine doses had been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign by Monday morning.   The Ministry of Health highlighted that more than 70 percent of deaths were due to comorbidities.  


"Our numbers are being checked against the Indian Council for Medical Research," the department said on its website, adding that the state distribution of the numbers is subject to further review and approval.
