Jagannath Rath Yatra is being taken out on Monday, 12th July. Jagannath Rath Yatra is taken out every year in Puri, Orissa. However, due to the Corona period, as per the directions of the Supreme Court, the Rath Yatra will be carried out in a limited area only in Puri. The court, justifying the decision of the Odisha government in view of the Delta Plus variant of Corona and the possibility of a third wave, has banned the Rath Yatra in the entire state. In such a situation, like last year, this year also the corona guidelines will be followed during the Rath Yatra.
Importance of Travel:Jagannath Rath Yatra has great importance in Hinduism. Jagannath Rath Yatra is taken out on the second day of Ashadh Shukla Paksha. According to religious beliefs, Lord Jagannath is taken out on a Rath Yatra and taken to the famous Gundicha Mata temple, where the Lord rests for 7 days. After this the return journey of Lord Jagannath begins. The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is celebrated like a festival all over India.
Chariot made of sacred woodJagannath Dham of Puri is one of the four Dhams. Puri is also known as Purushottam Puri. The symbol of the couple idol of Radha and Shri Krishna is Shri Jagannath ji himself. That is, by mixing Radha-Krishna, his form is formed and Krishna is also a part of him. In Odisha, semi-finished wooden idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are installed. These idols were built by Maharaja Indradyumna. It is believed that by visiting this Rath Yatra, all the troubles of life are removed and the person attains Baikunth Dham.

The Rath Yatra would have the Taal Dhwaja on which Shri Balarama is at the front, the Padma Dhwaja on which Subhadra and the Sudarshan Chakras are followed, and at the last is Shri Jagannath Ji on the Garuna Dhwaja who walks at the back.
Corona guidelines will be followed:Jagannath Rath Yatra starts from Dwitiya Tithi of Ashadh Shukla Paksha and ends on Dashami Tithi. It is believed that worshiping Lord Jagannath during this time fulfills all the wishes. Jagannath Yatra has started from today. Due to Corona virus, this time also devotees have not been allowed to participate in Jagannath Yatra. Social distancing and other corona protocols will be strictly followed during the Rath Yatra.
