Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar (73) was admitted to the cardiac department of AIIMS Delhi on Sunday morning due to chest pain and uneasiness. His condition is stable and he is under the observation of doctors. In 2021 also, he was admitted to AIIMS due to malaria.

Jagdeep Dhankhar: India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar (73) was admitted to the cardiac department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, on Sunday morning. He had complained of discomfort and chest pain late at night, after which doctors advised immediate hospitalization. Currently, his condition is stable, and a team of expert doctors is closely monitoring his treatment.

Admitted to Hospital at 2 AM

According to reports, Vice President Dhankhar was brought to AIIMS around 2 AM, where he was admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU). His treatment is being supervised by Dr. Rajiv Narang, the head of the cardiology department at AIIMS, along with a team of specialists.

Upon hearing the news of his hospitalization, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda rushed to AIIMS to assess Dhankhar's health condition. The hospital administration and medical experts have confirmed that his condition remains stable but mentioned that the next few hours will be crucial.

Previously Hospitalized in 2021

This is not the first time Vice President Dhankhar has been admitted to AIIMS. In 2021, when he was serving as the Governor of West Bengal, he contracted malaria and was hospitalized on October 25. At that time, he was under the care of Dr. Neeraj Nishchal, an additional professor in the medicine department at AIIMS.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is a prominent and experienced leader in Indian politics.

He is currently serving as the 14th Vice President of India.
Previously, he served as the Governor of West Bengal (2019-2022).
He was born on May 18, 1951, in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.
He entered politics in 1989 when he won the Jhunjhunu Lok Sabha seat as a candidate from Janata Dal.
In 1990, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
In 1993, he won the Rajasthan Assembly elections from Kishangarh, Ajmer district.
He was also associated with Congress during P.V. Narasimha Rao’s tenure but later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Current Condition and Medical Procedures

According to doctors, the Vice President is under precautionary observation, and various heart-related tests are being conducted. If everything remains normal, he may be discharged from the hospital in the coming days.
