In her address at the Democrats National Convention, she pledged unity and "peaceful transfer of power". Harris said that this election is an opportunity for Americans to move forward unitedly. On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, she talked about standing firmly with Ukraine and criticized Trump. If Harris becomes president, she will be the first woman president of America.

Harris said, "On behalf of the people, on behalf of every American, regardless of party, race, or language, on behalf of my mother and all those who started their impossible journey, on behalf of the Americans with whom I grew up, who work hard, pursue their dreams and take care of each other, on behalf of all those whose story can only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept the candidacy."

Kamala clarified her stand on Russia-Ukraine war

Harris (59), who came on stage to accept the candidacy at Chicago's 'United Center', said that impossible journeys are nothing new for her. Harris said that her opponent Donald Trump is not a calm and serious person. Expressing her commitment to support Ukraine in the war with Russia, she said that if she is elected President, she will stand firmly with Ukraine and its allies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Harris's mother Shyamala Gopalan was Indian and her father Donald Jasper Harris was a Jamaican citizen. If Harris is elected, she will be the first woman president of America.
