US Election: Preparations for the presidential election in America are gaining momentum. Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted the presidential candidacy on behalf of the Democrats. In her address at the Democrats National Convention, she pledged unity and "peaceful transfer of power". Harris said that this election is an opportunity for Americans to move forward unitedly. On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, she talked about standing firmly with Ukraine and criticized Trump. Harris said that her opponent Donald Trump is not a calm and serious person. Expressing her commitment to support Ukraine in the war with Russia, she said that if she is elected President, she will stand firmly with Ukraine and its allies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Harris's mother Shyamala Gopalan was Indian and her father Donald Jasper Harris was a Jamaican citizen. If Harris is elected, she will be the first woman president of America.
