Kerala | A 30-year-old man was allegedly brutally thrashed by his wife's relatives for refusing to break their relationship by saying 'triple talaq' in Kerala's Malappuram district. The police gave this information on Tuesday. The Kottakkal police have arrested six persons in connection with the incident that took place on Monday.A senior police officer said on the basis of the case registered that Abdul Aseeb was assaulted by his father-in-law and wife's uncles because he refused to break ties with his wife by uttering 'triple talaq', with whom he had about one and a half years. The marriage took place a month back.He said that there were some issues between the couple and their relatives, who intervened on the issue. According to police sources, the relatives of the wife have alleged that Aseeb is a man of suspicious character and is addicted to drugs.The victim, admitted to a private hospital, has sustained serious injuries in the assault, he said. The accused include Abdul Aseeb's father-in-law Shamsuddin and Fatima's uncles Majeed, Shafiq, Jalil, Shafir Ali and Mustafa, police said.
