What is Ramanandi tradition?

The Ramanandi sect was established in the 15th century to remove casteism and increase devotion. People of this sect are spread all over the country. Recently this sect came into discussion regarding Ayodhya Ram temple because after the consecration of Ramlala, Ramlala will be worshiped in this manner. Ramanandhi tradition is a Vaishnav tradition which was founded by Swami Ramanandacharya. In this tradition Lord Shri Ram is considered a deity. Worship is done in this tradition in most of the temples of Ayodhya. People of this sect consider themselves descendants of Lord Ram's sons Luv and Kush.

What is the relation of Ramanandi tradition with Lord Ram?

It is believed that the Ramanandi sect started from Lord Shri Ram. This sect is considered to be one of the largest sects of Hindus. People of this sect are pure vegetarians and follow the Vishishtadvaita theory of Ramanand. Vishishtadvaita theory says that we are all a part of God and the purpose of birth of all living beings is to attain God. In this theory, two things are considered necessary to attain God, which are renunciation of ego and dedication towards God.

In this tradition the values of equality and devotion have been given more importance.
