'Cricket has changed'

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara believes that foreign countries like England and Australia have learned to play spin better than subcontinental teams as cricket has changed a lot in the last few years. Sangakkara said in the Star Sports show, 'I think cricket has changed a lot since 2011, in those days I would say that in Asian conditions, it used to be about players from the subcontinent. But in the last few years, I think England, Australia, New Zealand have learned much better than playing spin.

Help in IPL

Kumar Sangakkara further said, 'You see a lot of reverse sweeps, paddle shots and sweeps, all these new strokes are played using your feet. I think there has been a revolution in the way we look at cricket in the subcontinent. IPL has helped a lot in this matter of exposure as well.

Gave this advice to the Indian team

Kumar Sangakkara said, 'This is the year of the ODI World Cup. This should be the main focus of your players and they should play a lot of ODI cricket. There is no problem in rotating the players in the rest of the squad. Right now Team India has to play ODI series against Sri Lanka from 10th January.
