IPL 2025 Mayank Yadav: With Team India becoming the champion, the Champions Trophy 2025 has ended and now the eyes of the fans are on IPL 2025. IPL 2025 is going to start from March 22, but before that a bad news has come out for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The team's star fast bowler Mayank Yadav may be out of the first half of the tournament due to a back injury.

Mayank's injury and recovery journey

Mayank Yadav is currently recovering from his injury and has recently started bowling at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. He suffered this injury while making his debut for India in the T20 series against Bangladesh last year.

The BCCI has not yet set a fixed date for Mayank's return, but according to reports, if he meets all the fitness parameters along with increasing the bowling workload, he can play in the second half of IPL 2025. ESPNcricinfo has given this information in its report.

LSG got a big setback

If Mayank misses the first half of IPL 2025, it will be a big setback for LSG. The franchise had retained him for Rs 11 crore before the mega auction. Interestingly, Mayank was bought by LSG at a base price of Rs 20 lakh and after a brilliant performance, he became a millionaire in the very next season.

Last season, Mayank created a sensation in the cricket world by bowling at a speed of over 150 kmph. He impressed the national selectors by winning the 'Player of the Match' award consecutively in his first two IPL matches, due to which he soon got a chance to debut in Team India. However, he could not play many matches due to injury.

Away from the field for a long time

Mayank could play only four matches in IPL 2024 as he was suffering from side strain. During his rehab, he suffered another injury, which further delayed his return. During this time, he made his debut in the T20 series against Bangladesh, but got injured again soon after, due to which he had to go to rehab again.

Mayank has been away from the field since October last year, and now the possibility of him not playing in the first half of IPL 2025 has become a matter of concern for LSG. However, the franchise and fans are hoping that he will get fit as soon as possible and be available for the team in the second half.
