A team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the house of powerlifter and gym trainer Shubham Bhagat in Mumbai Ghatkopar area on Saturday. During this, other drugs including ganja, charas and LSG were recovered. The NCB registered a case against the accused and then he was produced in the court. Court sent Shubham to NCB custody for 2 days.

NCB team has started questioning Shubham Bhagat in this case. After this, action will be taken on the basis of the information that will come out. More people are suspected to be behind this drug racket. It is believed that some more arrests may be made in this case.

Interstate gang involved in smuggling of CBCS busted

A few days back, the NCB in Mumbai busted an inter-state gang involved in smuggling banned Codeine Based Cough Syrup (CBCS). Five people were arrested in this case and intoxicants worth about Rs 50 lakh were also recovered. After continuous monitoring, the NCB gathered the key members of this gang, their role, functioning, financial sources and various operational details.

According to NCB, the consignment of CBCS was originally being sent from Mughalsarai to Pune in Maharashtra on the basis of fake addresses and forged documents via Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This consignment of CBCS was received at Pune Railway Station. After this, it was to be sent to different places of Maharashtra including Mumbai through different levels of local smugglers.
