The Netherlands, captained by Scott Edwards, secured India's ticket by defeating Scotland by 4 wickets in just 43 overs in their last match of the World Cup qualifiers. Scotland batted first and scored a strong score of 277 runs. For him, Brandon McMullan scored his second ODI century. Both his centuries came in this tournament only. Apart from McMullan, captain Richie Barrington also scored 64 runs.

The Scotland team could not score a bigger score than this, so the reason for that was the fast bowler Delida. The right-handed pacer made 5 batsmen his victims from top to lower order.

The Dutch all-rounder's work was yet to be done. This 23-year-old player again rocked the bat. The team had to achieve this target in just 44 overs, so that they could leave behind Scotland's net run rate. However, the top order of the Netherlands batted very slowly, due to which it seemed difficult. Bais Delida took the lead and scored his first century in just 84 balls.

Amazing like Viv Richards

After this, Delida hit 4 more sixes in the next 8 balls to ensure the team's victory in just 42.5 overs. He scored 123 runs in just 92 balls (7 fours, 5 sixes) and got out 2 runs before victory. With this performance, Bes Delida repeated the feat of great Windies batsman Viv Richards. He became only the fourth player in men's ODI cricket to score a century and take 5 wickets in a match. Richards first did this feat in 1986. Apart from him, England's Paul Collingwood (2007) and UAE's Rohan Mustafa (2017) have also done this feat.

When will there be competition with India?

With this, all the 10 teams of the World Cup have been confirmed as well as the last opponent of Team India and the match day has also been confirmed. The Netherlands' first match will be against Pakistan on October 8, while Team India will clash with the Netherlands in their last match of the league stage itself. This match will be played on November 11 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
