The hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have also been predicted to witness dense fog for the next 3-4 days. Dense to dense fog is likely over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next 2 days. The people of Arunachal Pradesh may have to face fog for the next 24 hours. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the weather patterns from the plains to the mountains are going to change again in the next one or two days. There is a possibility of snowfall along with rain in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar of Uttarakhand.Dense fog enveloped parts of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, reducing visibility in many areas. According to IMD, the minimum temperature in Moradabad will be 6 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 16 degree Celsius, while very dense fog will prevail today.Temperature likely to dropAlong with the heavy outbreak of fog and cold wave, the temperature of many states of the country has also been expected to fall. According to weather experts, the north-west winds coming from the Himalayan region can have a great impact in the plains. Due to this, there is a possibility of recording a drop of 2 to 4 degree Celsius in the minimum temperature in North-West India. For the next 2 days, its effect can be seen in central India as well. Due to cold winds, cold wave is expected to increase in Himachal Pradesh till January 1, 2023, Punjab and West Rajasthan till January 4, 2023, Haryana as well as parts of Chandigarh and East Rajasthan till January 4.Cold wave in Delhi-UPThe havoc of cold winds can also be seen in Delhi-NCR and many districts of UP. According to the latest forecast of IMD, there is a possibility of cold wave in Delhi-NCR from January 3 to 4. At the same time, cold wave is expected to prevail in most parts of western Uttar Pradesh from January 1 to 2, 2023. There is no possibility of any significant change in the temperature of central India as well as other states of the country for the next 3 days.
