Incidents of fire in electric scooters continue in the country. Amidst the recent incidents of EV fire, now an electric scooter caught fire in Hyderabad. This time the electric vehicle manufacturer Pure EV's EPluto G7 electric scooter is in the headlines due to the fire.


An electric scooter was engulfed in flames in Hyderabad on Wednesday, May 11. People passing by the spot recorded the incident in their mobile cameras. After which this video went viral on social media. However, the police said that no one was injured in the incident.


The scooter owner has lodged a complaint with the LB Nagar police station. The victim says that he recently bought the EPluto G7 electric scooter at a price of around Rs 90,000.

The owner of an electric scooter who became a victim of fire works as a food delivery agent. The incident happened when he was traveling with his friend. According to the victim, his Pure EV electric scooter suddenly stopped during the journey. When he opened the battery compartment to check, he saw smoke coming out. Soon the scooter caught fire and it got burnt to ashes.


Scooters were recalled

Pure EV is one of the electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India whose electric vehicles are on fire. It is one of the EV makers that has brought back several of its e-scooters for investigation after they allegedly caught fire. The brand has so far recalled around 2,000 of its electric scooters since the start of the accident. However, the company has not issued any statement on the latest incident of fire in its scooter.

 

Ola Electric and Okinawa Autotech are the other two electric two-wheeler makers to recall their e-scooters amid EV fire incidents. The Center has ordered a probe into the cases to find out the cause of several incidents of EV fire.

 

Life was lost due to battery explosion

Last month, an explosion took place while charging the battery of an electric scooter in Nizamabad district. An 80-year-old man was killed in this incident. While three of his family were injured. In another incident, the battery of an electric two-wheeler exploded while charging in Karimnagar district on the night of May 8. However, no one was injured in this incident.
