India-America Relations: India and America are moving at a fast pace to work in the field of space. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson has said that the US space agency will increase cooperation with India. An Indian passenger will also be included in the International Space Station. Nelson's statement came after a factsheet was released by the US and India. This factsheet states that both countries are working towards starting modern training for ISRO astronauts in the US.

Indians on the space station

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson wrote on the social media platform 'X' on Wednesday, "Moving forward after my visit to India last year, NASA will continue to enhance US and India's initiatives on critical and emerging technologies for the benefit of humanity. Together we are expanding the cooperation of both the countries in space, including an ISRO astronaut in a joint effort on the International Space Station. Nelson said, "The details of this mission are still being decided, but these efforts will help in space travel in the future, which will improve life on earth."

Let us tell you that, before the factsheet was released, 'ICET (India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies)' talks were held between US NSA Jake Sullivan and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Monday. Sullivan and Doval said in New Delhi on Monday that to deepen mutual cooperation in space, they have decided on a strategic human space flight cooperation framework and they are working towards starting training of ISRO astronauts at the 'NASA Johnson Space Center'.

Cooperation has to be increased

Recently, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti had informed that the US will send an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station by the end of this year. He had said that a joint mission between the US space agency NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation under the NISAR project could also be launched by the end of this year. He had said that the amount India spent on Mission Chandrayaan 3 last year was the same amount that the US had spent on a similar lunar mission. Garcetti had also said that the US has some capabilities that India still lacks. Both countries will have to increase mutual cooperation to strengthen their capabilities together.
