Speaking to reporters during a program of VVDN Technologies, Vaishnaw said that India has now become a trusted center of electronics manufacturing. Underlining India's policies, practical approach and continuous dialogue with the US, he said, "This visit will definitely have positive results, as we have taken it in a very practical and active manner."

He also cited the clarity and stability brought in foreign policy by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a reason for global trust. He said that India's credibility has increased on the global stage and it is now playing a decisive role in international trade cooperation.

Challenge from China: Is there a possibility of dumping?

Responding to a question on the possibility of dumping of electronic products in India amid the ongoing trade and tariff dispute with China, Vaishnav assured that the country is prepared for any situation. However, he clarified that the final decision and information in this subject comes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce.

His statement comes at a time when concerns are being raised globally over China's decreasing economic transparency and increasing protectionist policies.

Impact of China's ban on rare earth minerals?

There was also a discussion about China's possible ban on the export of critical rare earth minerals. On this, Vaishnav said that Indian industry is looking for alternatives and the Kovid epidemic has made them realize the need to diversify the value chain.

"The pandemic taught that it is necessary to create diverse supply chains. That is why the world is now moving towards diverse sources instead of single dependence," he said.

This visit of JD Vance is considered important in terms of giving a new direction to the technical and strategic cooperation between India and America.
