Talking about the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first against Team India. Sri Lanka scored 274 for six in 50 overs thanks to Mahela Jayawardene's century and Kumar Sangakkara's innings of 48 runs. In response, Team India had registered a historic victory by scoring 277 runs losing four wickets in 48.2 overs.
